Bassiste depuis longtemps du groupe de rock REO Speedwagon qui a écrit et chanté entre autres les chansons de REO "Back on the Road Again", "Girl With the Heart of Gold", "After Tonight" et "Born to Love You".

Il a intégré REO Speedwagon en 1977 en remplacement de Gregg Philbin.
